FOUNDER

Haydon kemp owner of refuge barbers started his business originally as a clothing store back in 2012 in oceana walk, but refuge barbers and apparel has grown to be not only a popular clothing business but also a coffee café and one of the top barbershops in cairns. Haydon’s focal point for refuge barber shops is to create an open, inviting environment and atmosphere for everyone to feel welcome in the community. Haydon as built up to four stores in the past thirteen years and is forever expanding and growing. Currently Haydon has employed 17 staff members across all stores. Haydon is now the successful CEO of the barbershops across the far north and will continue his growth and ambitions.

When he’s not busy at the shops you’ll often see Haydon walking around cairns with his dog Rocco with a big smile on his face and chatting with anyone and everyone. So, pop in for a coffee or cut or even just a yarn as we love meeting new people.
